[He pauses. He realizes Sanji's frequency isn't there. At all. The pause is really long, and when he speaks again, he sounds both upset and pissed off.]

[There's another pause while he gathers his thoughts. He lets out a sigh.]

I need a head count on who's coming out on this lake trip. Even if you're not coming, we're gonna need hands on land to get things going. Wednesday at noon, be at the docks. We have a lot of work to do if this is gonna happen.

[The communicator feed clicks on abruptly, and all that can be seen is whatever can be viewed from the light of the moon from the ground's perspective.

A liquid drips onto the screen; It's thick and dark, and obviously blood. The video is obscured by that, but the shine of a sword can be seen overhead from the area not blocked.]

Damn.

...Tch.

[The camera begins to shake - Zoro's picking up the communicator. He wipes away the blood with his thumb. His face doesn't look too injured, save for a few scrapes and some dried blood around his eye.]

Some way to be woken up.

[The feed clicks off just as abruptly after that.]

All right, that's it. I've had enough of this.

[It's quiet for a second while Zoro inner monologues about this even being possible - Discedo had been nothing more than the notion of dream for him when he returned to the Grand Line]

It was snowing when I left. So either it's been a week, or I missed a couple of seasons.

[Zoro picked up the communicator and... cue Zoro being Zoro.]

[When the feed clicks on, it's silent. For a long time. Zoro is unsure of what to say, fully knowing what happened both before and after he turned into a monster. After a few minutes, he finally speaks - though they're the type of words he's not used to saying, and it's obvious that makes him uncomfortable.]

I'm sorry.

[He pauses again.]

[And again, he falls silent.]

To everyone.

[Still not really sure what he can say or do, he goes quiet again, eventually letting the feed time out.]

[As the feed clicks on, it's silent for a long while. Faint shuffles, a few pained groans, and even a yawn can be heard. Doors open and close until finally, the sound of a slight breeze blowing into the feed can be heard. When Zoro finally speak, he doesn't sound shaken - his tone is mostly a hybrid of disappointment and exhaustion.]
